Easter Triduum

 Within the following weeks before Easter we have been learning about the Easter Triduum. The Easter Triduum is the important events leading up to Easter Sunday. I will explain the Easter Triduum from the day it starts.

Palm Sunday: This is the day where the Easter Triduum begins. On this day, Holy Week begins. Jesus has finished walking through the desert. It has been 40 days since He started walking. He rides into Jerusalem on a donkey as the people of Jerusalem place palms and clothing on the ground for Jesus saying, "Hosanna."

Holy Thursday: This is the day that the Last Supper happens. At the Last Supper Jesus says to his disciples, "One of you will betray me tonight. So this bread is my body, and this wine is my blood. Eat and drink this to remember me. But first, whoever I give the bread to is the one who has betrayed me." Next Jesus passes the bread to Judas. Judas gets mad and walks out. Jesus then breaks the bread and passes it round the table. Later that same night Jesus heads to a garden with his disciples. Jesus sits down and prays for a few hours. A few hours later Judas arrives with some soldiers to arrest Jesus. That's what they do.

Good Friday: Today Jesus gets trialled. At first the Judges don't want to kill him, but eventually they do. Now, the stations of the cross begin. First Jesus gets striped of his clothing and a crown of thorns is placed on his head. Next he is given his cross and has to walk up a hill carrying it on his back. Jesus falls over but is forced to get back up. He keeps walking. His mother Mary comes up to wipe the blood of his face. He keeps walking. He falls over again. Some one named Simon is forced to help Jesus. He does. Later Jesus is given the Cross again. He keeps walking. He falls over a third time. He is force to get back up. When he reaches the top of the hill, he is nailed to the cross. After a few hours, Jesus dies. He is taken down from the cross and placed in a tomb.

Easter Sunday: Jesus rises from the dead to meet with his disciples. He tells them that the Holy Spirit will come and that the sins of the world will always be healed.

After we researched the Easter Triduum we got to make 2 pictures. After they were made we had to cut them into strips and glue them down to a large piece of paper. We had to glue 1 strip of paper at a time. The first strip was one picture, the second strip was from the other picture.

The Golden Rule

In RE we made DLO's based on the bible verse Luke chapter 6 verse 31. Do to others as you would have them do to you. This is an important verse that we should all follow through on. This means that if you steal from someone, expect them to steal from you.

Something I found difficult was understanding the verse.

Something I enjoyed was making the DLO.

In R.E we had to right an Inquiry on the Pope. There was a few different topics to chose from. I chose the Pope's home in Vatican city. Hope you enjoy.

Saint Maximilian Kolbe

Last week we started learning about two Saints and what they did. The first Saint is Saint Maximilian Kolbe, the other Saint is Father Francis Vernon Douglas.

We even learn how to use a new website called Voki. Voki is a website where you chose a character and a voice, next you write down what you want them to say and finally you click the button that makes them talk.

The Saint I chose to make my was Saint Maximilian Kolbe.

My Christmas Resolution

Walt recall how Mary heard the Word of God and acted on it

It is nearly Christmas, but my class isn't learning about advent. (Yet) We are learning about Mary, the Mother of God and the world. We had to make Christmas resolutions. We also had to write down how we can be disciples.

I found making a Christmas resolution difficult.

I enjoyed making it because it reminds me that Christmas is near.

3 or 4 People in the Early Church

In RE (Religious Education) we had to use animaker to write about 3 or 4 people in the early church. On the site there were 6 links. 1 of the links were 2 people, that's why I wrote 3 or 4. I chose the link with 2 people as my third link.

When we finished the animaker we had to screencastify it. When we were do with screencastifying it we had to publish to our blogs.

I found screencastifying the animaker difficult.

I found making the animaker easy.

I enjoyed the entire task.

My Symbol of the Eucharist

In lesson 7 of the sacraments we learned about the Eucharist. We had to make our own symbols and write down a verse underneath it. What I found hard was making the symbol. The writing was easy. Everyone made a different symbol.

I spent a lot of time on this.

The cross is a symbol because it is what Jesus died on.

The bread and the wine are symbols because it is what Jesus gave to his disciples.

Sacraments of Initiation

In Religious Education we are learning about the Sacraments of Initiation. We made DLOS about these sacraments. They help you become closer to God the Lord.

T3 Psalms

During morning prayers we have been praying with the psalms. Each morning, Mrs Lee showed the class a psalm. We had to chose a verse, and put it in a doc. Today we had to put our own psalms on a slideshow. I was really interested and confused. Here is my slideshow so far.

I enjoyed making our own psalms. What I found difficult was making the slideshow.

The Stage's of Amazing Life

In R.E we have be doing a DLO about the stage's of life. The stage's of life is a journey from birth to death. During that time you grow and learn  like this.

The New Church

Last year at the end of the year, the St Bernadette School Church started getting re-built. My school had the final Assembly at Hornby Primary School. It took a whole year for the Church to get re-built.

The New Church
On Wednesday 17/10/18 my whole School went to the New Church. As soon as my class went in I felt like I was in Heaven. When we went in the foyer I thought, “Where is the Holy Water.”. Next when we were in the Main part of the New Church, I found the Holy Water. Later we were sitting down on the chairs. When the Mass started everyone stood up. Everyone sang a song. The song was One Faith.

Father Palo, the Priest, talked about the new stuff during the Mass. He talked about the new St Bernadette and Mary statue’s from france. Next He talked about the trees on the walls of the Church. He said, “Jesus is the branch and we are the leaves.”. The leaves are stars.

After Father Palo talked about the new stuff, the school sat down. I noticed the New Tabernacle. During the Mass the school choir stood up and sang. I don’t know the name of the song. After Mass the class’ went back to the classroom’s. The New Church is awesome. Oh I forgot something, the entrance doors are made of glass. Also there's a glass roof other the Holy Water, not the whole Church.

God is Everywhere

Walt reflect on how God

We went outside and walked around and found stuff the God is in,
